About this series
Pivot was commissioned by Singapore’s National Heritage Board for the Patron of Heritage Awards 2017.
The series evokes Singapore as an ever-evolving nation in motion. Each object revolves—at times unpredictably, but always around a defined point. The fulcrum represents the shared heritage and cultural understanding around which the nation continues to grow.
The objects’ gentle, revolving motion traces a line through past, present and future, bringing shared experiences together as each form comes full circle.
